Iranian Parliament Deputy Speaker Condemns US Actions, Emphasizes National Unity

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Ali Nikzad, the Deputy Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, in a virtual session of the parliament, delivered remarks that strongly criticized recent American actions and underscored the importance of national resilience and unity. He began by commemorating the martyrs of the Iran-Iraq war and the government week, emphasizing that responsibility within the Islamic Republic is a trust and a duty that should be amplified by the Iranian nation’s resistance against its adversaries.
Nikzad asserted that the Iranian nation has demonstrated unwavering strength in the face of pressure, threats, and aggression, safeguarding its security, independence, and dignity through unity and steadfastness. He stated that the enemy’s attempts to create a rift between the people and the system through military pressure have instead led to increased national solidarity. “Our duty as officials today is to preserve this great asset. We must not allow the enemy to shift the war from the military arena to the psychological, economic, and social domains,” Nikzad stated. He emphasized that maintaining public tranquility, fostering hope, and preventing actions that undermine national cohesion are crucial responsibilities for both the parliament and the government.
Referencing the Supreme Leader’s message during Government Week, Nikzad highlighted the call for explaining Iran’s strength and power, avoiding despair-inducing rhetoric, and preventing the creation of false dualities. He elaborated that Iran’s power lies not only in its military equipment but also in its people, including its youth, scientists, workers, farmers, teachers, doctors, engineers, entrepreneurs, its formidable armed forces, and the unity of the great Iranian nation. “Alongside defensive power, we must also strengthen the country’s economic power. Sustainable security is achievable with a strong economy,” he added. Nikzad noted that the public expects tangible results from national resistance in their daily lives, including employment, housing, healthcare, production, national currency value, and economic stability.
The Deputy Speaker underscored the parliament’s role as a partner, supervisor, and demand-raiser alongside the government. He stated that the parliament is tasked with enacting necessary laws to resolve the country’s issues and diligently monitor their implementation, while the government must act with speed, precision, and a spirit of jihad. Nikzad acknowledged that differences in opinion are natural, but divergences in national interests are unacceptable. “Today, the people have a common demand from all of us: to make Iran stronger, the economy more resilient, society more cohesive, and the future more hopeful,” he said.
Nikzad emphasized that Iran currently needs unity, efficiency, and hope more than ever. He believes that through unity, solidarity, and empathy, Iran’s enemies will taste bitter defeat in the face of hybrid warfare and comprehensive economic war, mirroring their military failures. He also referenced the approaching anniversary of the martyrdom of Rais Ali Delvari as a symbol of the enduring spirit of freedom among the Iranian people. Nikzad reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran has no doubt or weakness in defending its national interests, a stance shared uniformly by all branches of governance, the people, and the armed forces.
He further criticized the United States, stating that those trapped in a quagmire only sink deeper with their futile struggles. Nikzad challenged American claims regarding the Strait of Hormuz, asserting that the reality of the situation is determined by the capabilities of Iran’s powerful armed forces and the comprehensive oversight of its valiant personnel. “For the umpteenth time, we emphasize that the Strait of Hormuz will never revert to its pre-war conditions. Americans must open their ears and understand this message: the Strait of Hormuz equation has no military solution. The only possible solution is the acceptance of the undisputed sovereignty of a nation with deep roots in the Persian Gulf, a nation that is geographically and historically the owner of this strategic asset,” Nikzad declared. He expressed regret that the “ignorant and immature ruling elite of America,” instead of learning from their failures, resorts to new crimes to cover them up.
Nikzad continued by highlighting the recent attack on a wedding ceremony in Kohastak, Sirik, as a continuation of previous crimes in Minab and Lamerd, which he said demonstrates the criminal American enmity towards the resistance of the Iranian people and their continued way of life. He stated that targeting wedding ceremonies aims to disrupt the flow of life and instill despair. However, he asserted that the Iranian people’s response will be greater resistance and a more prominent presence in defending Iran and Islam, while the nation’s armed forces will deliver harsher punishment to aggressive enemies, as evidenced by a recent reprisal strike.
The Deputy Speaker affirmed that the Islamic Republic of Iran will not hesitate or delay in punishing these “germs of corruption.” He warned that anyone who collaborates with or partners in these crimes, or offers their land, territory, or facilities to the United States, will be punished in proportion to their involvement. Nikzad concluded that such crimes will only lead to the greater unification of the Iranian nation and their collective voice in resistance, more powerfully chanting the slogan “Death to America.”. The session concluded with parliamentary representatives chanting “Death to America,” signaling their stance against hostile American policies.
