Sudanese Army Announces New Operation Against Rapid Support Forces
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Russia today, a military source in el Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state, reported a special operation by the Sudanese army. During this operation, they recaptured two strategic positions and eliminated many Rapid Support Forces personnel.
The source stated that Sudanese army units-including the 6th Infantry Division,special forces,central reserves,16th Infantry Division,and other units-successfully carried out the operation at 3 a.m. local time on Saturday.
The source added that this action followed yesterday’s attack by Rapid Support Forces on these positions and a tactical withdrawal by the army from the area.
El Fasher experienced fragile calm early today as the army continued its morning bombardment in southern areas with support from reconnaissance drones.
Meanwhile, Rapid Support forces’ drones intensified their flights over El Fasher.
