Al-Mayadeen: Iran Has Not Received Any Proposal from Moscow to Halt Enrichment
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr news Agency, diplomatic sources told Al-Mayadeen that Russia has not changed its position regarding Iran’s nuclear program and denied reports of a Russian offer to stop uranium enrichment inside Iran. They referred rather to a proposal Moscow approved before the Israeli aggression.
The sources stated that Iran has received no suggestion from Russia concerning the suspension of uranium enrichment.
They added that Russia’s stance on Iran’s right to peaceful uranium enrichment remains firm and unchanged amid recent diplomatic contacts between the two countries.
The sources explained that during indirect talks between Iranians and Americans prior to Israel’s aggression, Russia had agreed in principle to a proposal involving transferring enriched uranium above 3.67 percent concentration out of Iranian territory back to Russia as an effort toward reaching a nuclear agreement.
The diplomatic sources emphasized that iran will not accept any initiative undermining its legitimate right to enrich uranium domestically.
