Aliyev to Ukrainians: Never Accept Occupation or Violation of Territorial Integrity
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, speaking with a stance critical of Russia, urged Ukrainians never to accept occupation or any breach of their territorial integrity.
In response to a reporter’s question about advice for Ukrainians,Aliyev emphasized,”Never agree to occupation. This is the main proposal.”
He added, “Do not give up on this matter and never accept violations of your territorial integrity.”
The president also announced plans to file complaints with international courts against Russia over its “lack of official response” regarding the downing of an AZAL passenger plane.
The Embraer 190 aircraft belonging to Azerbaijan airlines (AZAL) crashed near Aktau city in Kazakhstan on December 25 while en route from Baku to Grozny. The flight carried 67 people-62 passengers mainly from Azerbaijan-with Russian, Kazakh, and Kyrgyz nationals among them, alongside five crew members.
According to the latest reports, 38 people died in the crash-including seven Russian citizens-while 29 survived.
