Hamza Drone Approaches Gaza; Dozens of UAVs Circle Ship
According to the English section of webangah News agency, quoting Mehr News Agency, Gabriel Katala, a French parliamentarian aboard the Hanthala ship, told Al Jazeera that 30 drones flew overhead last night. He added, “We hope to reach Gaza without an Israeli military attack.”
He also called on all nations to hold protests against what he described as a genocide in Gaza.
Meanwhile, Forou, a member of the European Parliament aboard the ship, said: “we are approaching Gaza’s shores and hope not to be detained by occupying forces. Tel Aviv is using starvation as a tool to destroy Palestinians.”
less than two months after the seizure of the Madelin ship, this 18-metre fishing vessel named Hanthala set off from Syracuse port in Sicily toward Mediterranean waters aiming to challenge Gaza’s blockade. The ship is part of the Freedom Fleet and carries 15 activists and Palestine supporters from various countries-including members of European and French parliaments, volunteer doctors, independent journalists, and grassroots campaigners. The ship’s interior is filled with symbolic humanitarian aid such as medicine, light supplies, and messages of solidarity.
the vessel’s name honors “Hanthala,” an iconic character created by Palestinian cartoonist martyr Naji al-Ali-a child turning his back on global injustice. Now this symbol sails on a real deck addressing global public opinion: Gaza is not alone.
