Macron’s Advisor: We Are Surprised by the Controversy Sparked by Tel Aviv

According ‍to the⁣ English section of webangah News ⁤Agency, citing Mehr‍ News Agency, Emmanuel Macron’s advisor stressed in ⁤an interview ‍with Al Jazeera that more Israeli ‍soldiers are dying in clashes⁣ with Hamas. ⁣”Our message ‌to Tel Aviv is clear: the war must stop, and humanitarian aid must be allowed into Gaza,” he said.

he added ⁣that France’s‌ presidents have ⁢supported ‌a ⁢two-state solution‌ for more than⁢ 40 years. ⁤”We do not understand⁤ why Tel Aviv is upset by Macron’s⁢ stance,” he ⁢noted.

The French ⁤official also expressed surprise at ‍Tel⁢ Aviv’s strong reaction to Paris’s recognition⁣ of Palestine as⁣ a state.

This comes despite France ​being⁣ politically and⁤ militarily supportive of Israel, including during ‍its offensive on Gaza.

On Sunday, Israel summoned France’s ⁤deputy‌ ambassador to the occupied​ Palestinian territories ‌in response to Macron’s verbal statements about ‌Paris’s decision to recognize Palestine as a state.

President⁤ Emmanuel Macron previously ⁣stated that he ⁢had spoken with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Egyptian​ President ‌Abdel⁢ Fattah el-Sissi about‌ the catastrophic⁢ and unacceptable humanitarian situation in Gaza.

Macron said, “we cannot⁢ accept children starving in Gaza. I will officially recognize the Palestinian government at next September’s United Nations General Assembly.”
