Global Shipping Giant Refuses Red Sea Return Amid Yemen Fears
The CEO of the world’s largest shipping company expressed doubt over resuming the company’s operations in the Red Sea and Suez Canal.
According to the English section of webangah news Agency, citing mehr News Agency and Al-Masirah, the CEO of Maersk, the global shipping giant, stated that he does not expect the company to resume its activities in the Red Sea and Suez Canal this year.
He added that recent attacks in the Red Sea and ongoing developments in Gaza make him pessimistic about restarting operations.
Previously, Danish company Maersk announced it would suspend ship traffic to Haifa port in the occupied territories due to rising regional tensions.
The withdrawal of vessels linked to Israel from the Red Sea follows prosperous attacks by Yemeni armed forces in support of Gaza’s oppressed population.
