Hezbollah: Government Must Withdraw Decision to Disarm Resistance
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al-Ahed, Mahmoud Qomati, Vice president of Hezbollah’s Political Council, stressed that the current phase requires support for the Lebanese army to protect the country.
Qomati added that the government’s actions have trapped Lebanon in sedition and instability. The government decided to disarm the resistance amid Israeli attacks and occupation in Lebanon.
He warned that these moves represent an unprecedented stain, making Lebanon subject to foreign decisions.
The senior Hezbollah official noted there is no contradiction between forming a government and maintaining an armed resistance. He insisted that the government must reverse its decision or face a situation where stability cannot be assured.
