Militants Launch Night Attacks on 8 Areas in Pakistan, Killing 6 Soldiers
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News agency and Reuters, militants launched coordinated night attacks on police stations, checkpoints, and patrol units across seven districts in the volatile Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwestern Pakistan. At least six soldiers were killed during thes assaults.
Mohammad Ali Babakhel, a Pakistani police official, stated that militants used mortars and rocket-propelled grenades in some of the attacks.
He added that nine other military personnel were injured.The terrorist group Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan claimed duty for these nighttime assaults.
The frequency of militant attacks against Pakistan’s security forces has increased in recent months amid ongoing shortages of equipment faced by police forces nationwide.
