France Condemns Zionist “E1 Project
The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement on Saturday responding,though minimally,to the expansionist policies of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people,according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al Jazeera via Mehr News Agency.
according to the statement issued by France’s Foreign Ministry: “We strongly condemn the decision by Israeli authorities to approve the ‘E1’ settlement project in the West Bank.”
The ministry further urged Israel to halt its settlement construction activities in this area.
Meanwhile, Bezalel Smotrich, Israel’s Finance minister and a hardliner in Netanyahu’s cabinet, previously declared that Project E1 would bury any prospect for an independent Palestinian state.
Smotrich explained that this plan involves building over 3,400 new housing units in Ma’ale Adumim near Jerusalem. It would sever connectivity between Ramallah and Bethlehem.
