Lapid Urges Trump to End Gaza Conflict
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, yair Lapid, head of the Israeli opposition, addressed a letter to U.S. President Donald Trump calling on him to support a deal aimed at ending the Gaza conflict and securing the release of all israeli prisoners held there.
The Israeli opposition and families of captive Israelis blame Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for sabotaging prisoner exchange negotiations with Hamas. They allege his political motives include preserving his ruling coalition and clinging to power.
Yesterday, millions protested across the occupied territories in response. hebrew-language newspaper Haaretz reported that organizers estimated more than 2.5 million people participated in demonstrations throughout the region.
The report added that around 300,000 demonstrators gathered last night in Tel Aviv.This marked the largest protest there since six Israelis were killed hostage last year.
