Key Topics Discussed by Russian Deputy Defense Minister and Iranian Ambassador in Moscow
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and TASS, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday that General Alexander Fomin, Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia, held talks with Kazem Jalali, Iran’s Ambassador to Moscow, on international and regional security issues, including matters concerning the south Caucasus.
The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that on August 26, General Fomin met with Kazem Jalali, plenipotentiary ambassador of the Islamic republic of Iran to the Russian Federation. During this meeting, both sides discussed several topics related to bilateral military cooperation and explored future prospects for its implementation.
The statement further indicated that they also exchanged views on key international and regional security challenges, particularly focusing on the situation in the South Caucasus region.
The ministry highlighted that the senior Russian military official expressed gratitude to Ambassador jalali for his significant role in advancing Russia-Iran relations.
In response, Iran’s ambassador emphasized the dynamic and diverse nature of military engagement between Russia and Iran.
The Russian Ministry of Defense added that the meeting took place in an atmosphere of friendship and trust. Both parties reaffirmed their mutual intention to deepen strategic cooperation between Moscow and Tehran.
