Mahmoud Abbas and Palestinian Diplomats Banned from Entering the United States

The U.S. State Department announced that it will not grant visas to the President of the‍ Palestinian Authority and other Palestinian diplomats to attend ⁣the United Nations General Assembly,demanding they halt efforts to establish ⁤a Palestinian state.

According to ‍the English section of webangah News ​Agency, citing‌ Mehr News Agency and⁢ al Jazeera, the U.S. state Department declared that⁢ Secretary⁣ of State Marco​ Rubio has ⁢decided‌ to revoke visas for members of ‍the palestinian Authority ⁤ahead of the UN General Assembly.

the ​statement‌ from the U.S. ​State Department reads: “We have decided to ‍cancel visas ‌for ⁤members of both ‌the Palestinian Authority⁣ and the palestine Liberation Organization prior to the‍ UN General Assembly.”

It​ adds: “The Palestinian⁢ Authority and PLO ‌must consistently⁣ condemn terrorism, including attacks on october 7. They⁤ must also cease their​ campaigns seeking international legal actions, such as appeals to the ⁤International Criminal Court and International Court of Justice.”

The ‍U.S. further insists that “the Palestinian Authority‌ should abandon unilateral efforts ⁣toward ‌recognition⁢ of a Palestinian state.”

Barak Ravid, ⁣an⁤ Israeli Channel 12 journalist, reported that Washington is blocking Palestinian diplomats-including the President of the palestinian Authority-from ‌attending next month’s UN General Assembly ⁢in New York.
