Trump Claims Israel Agrees to Gaza Ceasefire Conditions
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, US President Donald Trump recently posted a message on social media claiming that the Israeli regime has agreed to his terms for a ceasefire and an end to the Gaza conflict.
The united States is the primary supporter of the Israeli regime in what many describe as genocide against the people of Gaza. Over the past two years, besides extensive military and political backing, it has repeatedly vetoed United Nations Security Council resolutions calling for a ceasefire and an end to the war in Gaza. Nevertheless, Trump wrote: “Everyone wants prisoners returned home. Everyone wants this war to end. The Israelis have accepted my conditions.”
He added: “I have also warned Hamas about the consequences of rejecting these ceasefire terms. This is my final warning; I will issue no further alerts.”
Israel signals green light
At the same time,Israeli media outlets Axios and Reuters also reported that Israel has given a “green light” to Trump’s ceasefire proposal.
Axios quoted two sources stating that Trump’s new proposal offers a complete solution involving the release of all prisoners in exchange for an end to hostilities in Gaza.
The families of Israeli captives have declared that Trump’s offer would result in freeing all detainees and their return home.
So far, officials from the Israeli regime have not officially responded to Trump’s claim; though, it is indeed frequently enough said that “the US government always articulates Israel’s positions,” making opposition to these terms unlikely.
Trump’s conditions for a Gaza ceasefire
The key points of America’s new proposal aimed at ending hostilities in Gaza are as follows:
- The release of all remaining prisoners held in Gaza
- A halt on Israeli military operations aimed at occupying Gaza City
- The freedom of 2,500 to 3,000 Palestinians detained by Israel
- The immediate start of negotiations regarding conditions for ending the war
- An emphasis on direct involvement by President Trump himself as guarantor for implementing the ceasefire agreement
