Tel Aviv’s “Scorched Earth” Policy to Displace Gaza City Residents
The europe-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor has warned that the Israeli army is employing a “scorched earth” strategy to coerce hundreds of thousands of residents and displaced individuals in Gaza City through force and intimidation into abandoning their homes, according to webangah News Agency.
In a statement released friday, the institution saeid the occupying forces are escalating mass killings of civilians, expanding the destruction of remaining residential buildings, and entirely halting relief efforts. These actions have effectively created conditions were resisting forced displacement amounts to “deliberate and systematic mass execution.”
The monitor reported that on Thursday evening, the Israeli military issued unlawful evacuation orders targeting seven facilities associated with domestic and international health and relief organizations within Gaza City. This move aims to paralyze all medical rescue operations.
The report outlined that such measures are part of a recent military offensive lasting over a month. The offensive fits within an apparent plan to reinforce military control over Gaza while emptying it of its inhabitants-a strategy risking turning the city into a devastated area devoid of any viable living conditions.
According to the statement, on one single day alone, fifteen homes in Al-Shati refugee camp in western Gaza were struck by air attacks. Together, multi-story residential towers in downtown were destroyed. These acts clearly aim to deepen civilian suffering by depriving them even of minimal means for survival.
The europe-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor emphasized that alongside evacuation orders and widespread demolitions of homes and shelters in recent days, daily mass killings have intensified: between 70% and 80% of daily casualties across the entire Gaza Strip occur specifically within Gaza City.
