U.S. Isolation Inevitable if “Snapback Mechanism” is Revived

A member ⁣of Lebanon’s National Nuclear Research Council highlighted the hostile actions ⁤of⁢ the United States and the ⁤West against Iran’s nuclear issue, ⁢stating that America’s isolation is ‍unavoidable if ⁢the “snapback mechanism” is revived.

establishing a balance between nuclear rights and obligations-ranging from deploying the snapback mechanism too politicizing the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)-has become a key issue in West Asian ⁤security.

Tehran Times ⁣conducted an interview with Khaled Hussein, a prominent scientist and university professor. ‍A‍ graduate in nuclear physics from ⁤Claude Bernard University in Lyon, France,⁢ and member of⁣ Lebanon’s National Nuclear Research Council, Hussein ⁤provided precise insights on Iran’s rights under the⁢ NPT treaty, challenges arising from sanctions, and broader ⁢consequences of US and Israeli pressures on ‌regional stability.

The full interview follows:

How ‍do you assess Iran’s rights under the NPT treaty, and to what extent ‍are these rights respected‌ internationally?

Iran has the right to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. It has never pursued prohibited uses ⁣and consistently adheres⁢ to international non-proliferation standards. ‍While Iran complies with international treaties, other countries violate them ‍without accountability from the ‍United Nations.

What is your opinion on European⁢ countries using the “snapback mechanism” to pressure Iran? How does this affect international legal credibility?

The snapback mechanism empowered the united States during Obama’s administration to reactivate Security Council resolutions within 30 days without Russia or China exercising their veto power. However, this process is not practically enforceable.

This mechanism was only⁢ used once. Despite all threats, I am unwilling to see it applied again as ‌major disagreements exist between America and Europe. If implemented by Washington alone, it will lead to its international isolation and pose meaningful risks‍ to Mediterranean security. Therefore, I prefer⁤ delaying its activation in favor ⁢of seeking a new consensus-based formula rather than undermining international law.

Do you believe that despite political‍ pressures, the IAEA monitors Iran’s nuclear ⁢activities impartially?

The IAEA director-general Rafael Grossi maintains credibility by emphasizing impartiality; however, it consistently shows bias toward Iran. Most⁤ inspectors operate‌ under pressure from Washington-a reality documented over time.

How do US and Israeli pressures regarding middle East nuclear energy‍ affect regional stability?

As long ‍as America continues providing unconditional support for Israel across technical and security domains, stability will remain elusive throughout West Asia.

How would you evaluate current advancements in Iran’s nuclear program compared ⁤with other regional countries?

Iran operates an efficient nuclear ⁢program backed by capacities equivalent to about 50 thousand experts. The country ⁢is fully committed to maintaining peaceful operations with openness at every⁣ stage while Israel remains dependent entirely on Washington⁤ without complying with any international atomic agreements.

What importance ⁢does uranium enrichment hold for peaceful energy purposes? How does this process support Iranian energy‌ independence?

Uranium enrichment plays a vital role within⁤ civilian nuclear⁣ cycles for electricity production and radiation therapies. ‍This domestically developed expertise allows considerable financial savings for Iran as all ‍related‌ knowledge originates locally.

What major ⁢technical challenges has Iran faced due to Western sanctions limiting its nuclear research capabilities?

iran has endured over four decades of tight embargoes blocking access‍ to advanced equipment or‍ modern technologies across fields related directly or indirectly-yet it ⁣countered these restrictions through domestic expertise by increasing centrifuge ⁣numbers upgraded from IR-1 models up through IR-10s-and currently possesses about half a ton of enriched uranium stockpile.</

Do you believe that ⁣existing global frameworks overseeing atomic activities strike adequate‌ balances between obligations-rights belonging equally among both nuc lear – equipped states versus those non-nuclear ?

International ⁤oversight surrounding civil⁤ atomics functions wholly according Washington directives ignoring⁣ respective prerogatives seen among nations possessing⁤ versus lacking arsenals – USA exploits regulatory⁢ breaches solely facilitating sovereign policy dominations atop⁢ multilateral governance platforms included herewith .

What might be probable consequences regionally or even worldwide should military assaults target Iranian nucle ar facilities ?

⁤ Tehran houses twelve robustly fortified sites designed such that any attack would not entirely destroy installations ‍but temporarily delay progress just months ; recovery depends entirely upon native Iranian expertise without fear posed ⁢regarding local radioactive leaks ‌spreading thereafter .

Have your experiences revealed cases were individuals aspiring ‍high-level posts inside UN bodies cooperated covertly alongside Western⁤ governments against third states?

Certainly: Both Israel along⁣ America strategically place influential agents ‍within every significant decision-making center globally .
