Guterres Issues Latest Statement on Gaza
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al Jazeera via Mehr News Agency, Antonio Guterres, the United Nations Secretary-General, has made a statement regarding Gaza.
Guterres said: “What is happening in Gaza is unacceptable morally, politically, and legally. The mediation efforts, which Qatar has expressed readiness to resume, are very vital.”
He added: “I will report on the deteriorating situation in Gaza and the West Bank to the International Criminal Court.”
“We must make every effort to support a two-state solution,” he continued. “Without it, there will be no peace in the Middle East.”
Guterres also noted that the recent attack on Qatar demonstrated Israel’s disregard for ceasefire negotiations in gaza. he stressed that establishing a ceasefire there is essential.
The Secretary-General announced his willingness to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin netanyahu during the upcoming General Assembly session.
Outlining Gaza’s dire conditions, he described how residents suffer from famine and displacement while lacking access to humanitarian aid.
