Yemen: Doha Summit Results Disappoint
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al-Masirah via Mehr News Agency, Yemen’s Ministry of Foreign affairs stated that the results of the emergency summit of Arab and Islamic leaders held Monday in Doha were disappointing and did not meet the aspirations and expectations of Arab and Islamic peoples.
The ministry added that these peoples had expected this meeting to produce decisive measures such as cutting diplomatic and commercial ties with the occupying regime, activating comprehensive sanctions, breaking the siege imposed on Gaza, and supporting the steadfastness of the palestinian people and thier courageous fighters.
Yemen’s Ministry also noted that while the Doha summit was underway, Palestinian blood was being shed in Gaza. Meanwhile, the United States sent a clear message backing israel at this meeting. Before decisions from the summit could even be formalized, Israeli forces launched a ground operation to occupy Gaza City.
On Tuesday, September 8th (18th Shahrivar), Israel bombarded locations where Hamas leaders were present in Doha during discussions about U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal for advancing negotiations. Although none of hamas’ leaders were harmed in this attack, several Hamas members and civilians-including a Qatari citizen-were killed.
Following this attack, Qatar called for an emergency meeting of Arab-Islamic leaders. This summit convened monday in Doha and concluded with a statement issued at its end.
