Canada: Situation in Palestine Is Terrible; Possible Impact of Sanctions on Russia
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al Jazeera via Mehr News Agency, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney stated on Monday that the situation in Palestine is terrible and chaotic. He added that if peace is achieved in palestine, Canada might participate as part of a multilateral international force in the region.
The Canadian Prime Minister also expressed support for efforts to establish a ceasefire and peace in Ukraine. He emphasized that any agreement with Russia must include security guarantees for Ukraine.
Continuing Ottawa’s critical stance toward Moscow, Mark Carney claimed that sanctions against Russia, especially targeting its financial sector, could be effective.
This comes despite repeated statements from many international officials highlighting that sanctions and restrictions on Russia have been ineffective and urging dialog to resolve conflicts in Ukraine.
Regarding Palestine, four countries-the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and Portugal-officially recognized the State of Palestine yesterday.
The Office of the Prime Minister of Canada (PMO) commented on this by stating that over recent decades, Canada’s commitment to a two-state solution has been based on the expectation that it would ultimately emerge as part of a negotiated agreement.
