Poland: Any Object or Bird Violating Our Airspace Will Be Shot Down
According to teh English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Anadolu Agency, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced today, Monday, that his country will shoot down any object or bird that violates its airspace.
Speaking at a press conference in Warsaw, the Polish prime minister stated: “We have decided to shoot down any object that breaches our airspace and flies over Poland; there is absolutely no debate on this matter.”
Tusk claimed that at least three Russian drones have been shot down by Polish aircraft and other NATO planes within Poland’s airspace.
Russia has said the incident was unintentional. Similar accusations were later made by Romania and Estonia.
This marks the frist time Russian drones have been shot down in NATO territory, according to Donald Tusk.
He referred to NATO’s Article 4, which allows a member state to call a meeting of allies for consultations on security concerns.
