Erdogan: Recognizing Palestine Honors the Voice of Justice
According to the English section of webangah news Agency, citing Mehr News Agency via Qatar’s Al Jazeera network, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan praised countries aiming to recognize Palestinian statehood. He said, “I congratulate all countries that intend to recognize the State of Palestine because they have respected the voice of justice.”
Erdoğan added, “The human suffering in Gaza is escalating as attacks continue. Netanyahu’s government seeks to make the establishment of a Palestinian state impractical; however, palestine’s cause has become a global issue.”
The Turkish leader further stated, “netanyahu’s administration is committing genocide against its neighbors. Standing against Israeli oppression is a moral duty.”
He emphasized, “Israel intends to destroy the two-state solution. Tel Aviv is pursuing regional instability. A ceasefire must be established and Israeli forces withdrawn from Gaza.”
A conference on the two-state solution, hosted by France and Saudi Arabia with dozens of world leaders attending, began Monday evening Tehran time in New York. It aims to gain support for an independent Palestinian state.
The meeting seeks backing for the two-state solution and anticipates several nations officially recognizing palestine-a move likely to provoke strong reactions from Israel and the United States.
The conference opened with remarks from French President Emmanuel Macron.
