Indonesia: When Palestinians Are Denied Legitimate Rights, Silence Is Not an Option

Indonesia’s President at the 80th UN⁢ General Assembly: “When palestinians⁤ are denied ⁣thier legitimate⁣ rights, silence is unacceptable.”

According to⁣ the English section of webangah News Agency,citing ⁢the United Nations website,Indonesian President Prabowo ‌Subianto addressed ⁣the 80th ‌UN General Assembly,stating that when legitimacy and justice are denied to Palestinians,silence is ⁤not an option. He emphasized the deployment of forces to support peace in Gaza and expressed readiness ‌to send indonesian‍ men ‍and women there to protect peace.

“The ⁤tragedy in Gaza is unfolding before our eyes.⁣ People⁤ are dying of⁢ hunger. Should ⁤we ​stay silent?​ We must act,”‍ he ⁤said.”The situation in Gaza is heartbreaking, and Palestinians there are calling on us ⁣for help‍ to save themselves. ‌We fully support establishing two states in Palestine;⁢ this is⁣ the only solution.”

president Subianto added, “We are among the largest contributors⁢ to peacekeeping forces and ‌will do ⁤whatever is necessary⁤ to achieve ​peace worldwide. We need a strong United Nations and will continue supporting international organizations.”

“We understand what⁢ deprivation of justice means-during colonial times,‌ we lived⁣ with fewer rights than dogs,” he said.​ “we witness disregard for law ⁣and basic human values. we cannot remain silent when even here in this hall justice ​for Palestinians is⁤ withheld. Oppression‌ can never prevail anywhere.”

He also addressed climate change: “We face direct impacts such as a ⁣critically important annual rise⁣ in ​sea levels. This year, we achieved our largest rice production ever and will provide it to Palestine‌ and​ other countries in need.” He concluded by affirming ⁣Indonesia’s commitment ⁢”to genuinely confront climate change-not just through slogans.”
