Muslims in Rome Rally Massively Chanting “Gaza
According to the English section of webangah News Agency,citing Mehr News Agency,Italian media have reported that on Friday,September 26,a demonstration will take place at Vittorio Square in Rome. The protest is organized by muslims residing in Italy’s capital to support the Palestinian people.
The media state that the rally aims to pressure authorities to stop the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip. Several non-sectarian Palestinian solidarity organizations are also joining this demonstration. A Friday prayer service has been planned for local Muslims as well.
Italian outlets highlight that what makes this protest unique is its association by a coalition of Rome’s mosques, with backing from the “Al-Muflihun Youth Association” (in the absence of Rome’s Grand Mosque). Islamic associations typically do not engage in civil protests; however, from a religious perspective, the Palestinian issue has deeply intensified. Therefore,Muslim residents of Rome choosing to join many Italian citizens recently demonstrating for Gaza is viewed as a positive sign.
Ahmad Wal, head of Al-Muflihun, saeid: “The September 26 demonstration is not just an ordinary rally but a duty-a sign of life and proof that our Muslim community hear is present and unafraid to show unity and solidarity. We Muslims are only one among countless groups moving forward and supporting others’ bold initiatives. This time we are those raising their voices confidently, assured all will respond.”
