Peskov: No Remedy Exists to Change the Conflict Status in Ukraine’s Favor
Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesperson, said on Monday that they are aware of statements by Vance Waclaw regarding the potential delivery of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine and are currently reviewing these reports.
Peskov added that the claims about supplying these missiles to Kyiv are taken very seriously. “There is no remedy at present that can alter the frontline situation for Kyiv,” he said. Moscow’s response to any possible delivery of Tomahawk missiles will be steadfast once potential threats are assessed.
He further noted that the halt in peace talks has resulted from Kyiv’s unwillingness to continue negotiations.
Earlier, JD Vance, former U.S. President Donald Trump’s deputy, stated that the U.S. is considering providing long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.
Western media outlets such as The Wall Street Journal and The Telegraph had recently reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky specifically requested this type of weaponry during his meeting with Trump on the sidelines of last week’s United Nations General Assembly in New york.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Trump did not oppose this request and even welcomed loosening restrictions on Kyiv’s use of U.S.-made weapons for strikes deep into Russian territory but made no commitments during the meeting. Axios reported earlier that Trump had previously opposed supplying these missiles to Ukraine.
