Tomorrow: Julani Regime’s First Show Election in Syria
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, the official news outlet of the Jolani regime in Syria announced that the People’s Assembly elections will take place tomorrow,Sunday. Today marks a ban on any election-related campaigning ahead of the vote.
The Syrian authorities stated that domestic,Arab, and international media would be present during the elections. Ballot boxes will be opened and votes counted instantly after polling concludes.
The first election under Syria’s terrorist regime only mimics an electoral process. Serious doubts remain about whether those elected genuinely represent the Syrian people.
The Abu Muhammad Jolani regime has declared an increase in parliamentary seats from 150 to 210.Though, new electoral reforms mean one-third of parliamentarians will be directly chosen by Jolani himself. This essentially ensures that policies originating from this legislature serve only his regime’s interests rather than those of Syrians.
In addition to 70 representatives directly selected by Jolani and admitted into parliament, the remaining 140 must still secure approval from Syria’s ruling authority after winning majority votes. Under emergency conditions, Jolani can dissolve parliament through internal state security mechanisms consisting of the foreign minister, interior minister, and defense minister.
Meanwhile, certain autonomous Syrian provinces-including Raqqa and Hasakah-and parts of Deir ez-zor have declared they will not permit elections within territories under their control. The status of elections in Suwayda province remains uncertain.
