Bomb Blast in Pakistani Classroom Injures Four Students
According to the english section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Times of India, four students were wounded after a bomb exploded in a classroom in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, northwest pakistan.
Reports indicate that a fourth-grade student brought an unexploded mortar shell to class. The device detonated after the student dropped it and it hit the ground.
The injured students have been taken to hospital. Authorities are currently searching the area for other unexploded ordnance.
Times of India reports that incidents involving toy-like bombs frequently occur in this region near the Afghanistan border.
Officials explained that these devices are actually unexploded munitions abandoned in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which children often mistake for toys.
