Netanyahu Declines to Attend Sharm El-Sheikh Summit
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Quds Al-Akhbariya, Benjamin Netanyahu declared that he will not travel to Sharm El-Sheikh.
The israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported that Prime Minister Netanyahu has canceled his trip to Sharm El-Sheikh.
Netanyahu’s office confirmed he will not participate in the Sharm El-Sheikh summit focused on Gaza.
Mohammad Majadle, speaking on Israel’s Channel 12, said: “In my view, the real reason for Netanyahu’s withdrawal is to avoid uncomfortable situations during speeches by Arab leaders and prevent tensions within his governing coalition.”
Israeli journalist Amit Siegel suggested that the cancellation might be related to upcoming Jewish holidays.
Another Israeli reporter questioned whether Netanyahu is using the holidays as an excuse to avoid shaking hands with Mahmoud Abbas and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
