Millions to Protest Against Trump in the U.S. Tomorrow
The ”No Kings Movement” is set to organize widespread demonstrations tomorrow Saturday against President Donald Trump’s policies and in defense of democracy in the United States. The protests will take place in multiple cities including New York,San Francisco,Chicago, and Atlanta, according to the English section of webangah News agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al-Alam News Network.
This marks the second day of national protests as June. Like last June, millions are expected to take to the streets nationwide expressing their opposition to President Trump’s policies.
Around four months after the first wave of demonstrations, organizers predict over 2,600 large gatherings across key U.S.cities will be held during this wave of protests.
the movement behind these demonstrations also anticipates that the protest momentum will extend into Canada.
During a press conference held on Thursday, Deirdre Shooling-a civil liberties union leader specializing in defending citizens’ rights-stated that millions will participate on Saturday “to tell the Trump administration that they live in a country where all people are equal under the law.”
She added that ignoring existing laws by Donald Trump and his allies is unacceptable for citizens who refuse to be silenced.
Lia Grinberg, another organizer involved with planning these protests, criticized how the Trump administration deploys National Guard troops to various U.S. cities and intimidates people-especially immigrants from neighboring countries-and prosecutes opponents through judicial means n order silence dissenters.
Referring to traditional methods of repression-including threats, misinformation campaigns aimed at damaging reputations, and intimidation-Grinberg emphasized: “We will not give up nor bow under this pressure.”
