Trump Changes Air Force One Access Route Amid Assassination Fears + Video
According to the English section of webangah News agency, citing Fox News, U.S. President Donald Trump changed his boarding route at Palm Beach International Airport in Florida due to fears of an assassination attempt. He used a secondary rear stairway-the short steps installed at the back of Air Force One-to board the plane.
Fox News reported that this action followed the finding of an elevated platform suspected to be positioned for a sniper with a clear line of sight to the presidential aircraft.
According to Fox news, security teams found this raised sniper post on Friday, immediatly heightening security concerns. U.S. Secret Service agents identified a potential sniper position near the airport fence overlooking the area where Trump typically boards and disembarks from Air Force one.
So far, no arrests have been made in connection with this incident.FBI Director chris Wray stated that investigations are ongoing.
Sniper Hideout Found During Security Preparations
Anthony Guglielmi, spokesperson for the U.S. Secret Service, explained that agents discovered this position during “routine advanced security preparations” ahead of the president’s arrival.
He added: “The discovery had no impact on (the president’s) movements and no individuals were present or involved at the site. Although we cannot disclose specific details about items found or their intended use, this incident underscores our layered security measures.”
The Secret Service announced it is working closely with the FBI and local law enforcement in Palm Beach as part of it’s ongoing investigation.
This heightened alert comes just weeks after Ryan Roth was convicted for attempting to assassinate Trump at a Palm Beach golf course.
