Basent: Sanctions Against Russia Are a Maximum Pressure Campaign
according to the English section of webangah News agency, quoting Mehr News Agency, US treasury Secretary Scott Bessent reiterated his firm stance against Russia in an interview with CBS on Sunday.
Bessent claimed that the sanctions imposed on Russia constitute a campaign of maximum pressure designed to succeed. He stated, “We can significantly reduce Moscow’s oil revenues. … If you look at every statement from Moscow, it seems they are trying to downplay it; we have protected our economy against this [virus]. Well, they have not secured thier economy. Their oil revenue has dropped 20 percent compared to last year.”
The Treasury secretary added, “I believe this could further reduce Moscow’s income by another 20 or 30 percent.”
