Egypt Proposes Ceasefire in Lebanon and Hezbollah Arms Discussion

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Mayadeen, Israeli media reported that Egypt is formulating a political plan aimed at easing tensions between Lebanon and the Israeli regime.
Arab political sources revealed that the plan involves stabilizing the ceasefire in Lebanon and requires Israeli forces to withdraw from five occupied areas. In return, Hezbollah would stop its military activities south of the Litani River.
The report states that a mechanism supervised by Arab countries and Turkey would oversee the implementation of this agreement. The plan emphasizes coordination between Iran and Saudi Arabia to keep Lebanon away from regional conflicts. This comes despite Iranian officials frequently reiterating their non-interference in Lebanon’s internal affairs.
Notably, since the official ceasefire took effect in Lebanon, Israel has violated it more than five thousand times, while Hezbollah has fully adhered to its commitments.
The report also notes that under Egypt’s proposal, Hezbollah may retain its weapons but is prohibited from upgrading or using them.
