Security Council Lifts Sanctions on Joulani

The United nations Security Council has lifted sanctions against Abu Muhammad al-Julani, the ⁣leader of the terrorist group controlling Syria.

According ​to ‍the​ English section of webangah⁢ News Agency, citing Mehr‌ News Agency and russia Al-Youm, the United Nations Security council approved a resolution on Thursday that removed sanctions against Abu Muhammad al-Julani, head of the terrorist group ruling Syria, and his Interior⁣ Minister Anas Katoub.

The draft resolution, proposed by the United States ‍to​ the ‍Security Council, passed with⁣ 14 votes in ⁣favor and one abstention.

China, as one of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, cast the sole abstaining vote on this resolution.

The sanction relief for al-Julani came just before his scheduled visit to Washington. Earlier this week, the White House announced that President Donald Trump​ would meet⁣ al-Julani at the White House on Monday.

syria’s Foreign‍ Minister Asaad‍ Al-Shibani stated that during his ⁢official trip to ‍washington, al-Julani would discuss issues including lifting remaining sanctions, ‍rebuilding syria, and counterterrorism efforts.

previously,Americans also lifted their own country’s sanctions⁤ on leaders of al-Julani’s regime to increase ⁣support for this terrorist⁢ regime.
