Israeli Analyst: Complete Disarmament of Hezbollah and Hamas Impossible

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Yedioth Ahronoth, Michael milstein, head of the Palestine Studies Association at Tel Aviv University, acknowledged that fully disarming Hezbollah and Hamas faces meaningful practical obstacles.
He added that achieving this goal would require a large-scale occupation of southern Lebanon and possibly the Gaza Strip, with israeli forces remaining in both regions for an extended period. This would ultimately impose serious political, military, and economic consequences on Tel aviv.
Milstein stated that it is necessary to abandon unrealistic military and political illusions. Pursuing one-sided objectives could lead to prolonged wars that further weaken Israel’s international standing and trap it in endless quagmires. He warned against slogans like “destroy Hezbollah,” questioning whether such demands are feasible or what practical outcomes thay would produce.
