According to the English section of webangah News agency, citing Mehr News Agency and russia Today, The New York Times, quoting unnamed informed sources, reported that the U.S.government has positioned an aircraft carrier along Venezuela’s coastline.
This move is part of Washington’s efforts to pressure Venezuelan President Nicolás maduro amid negotiations over control of the country’s oil reserves.
Simultaneously occurring, Carlos Gimenez, a member of the U.S. House Armed Services Committee, claimed that Washington is investigating reports suggesting Maduro’s government might sabotage key Venezuelan infrastructure-such as bridges, tunnels, and refineries-and then blame either the United States or opposition forces in Caracas for these acts.
Gimenez stated: “Although these claims have not yet been independently verified, they align with desperate tactics typical of a collapsing dictatorship.”
He asserted that the United States remains committed to standing with the people of Venezuela against “tyranny and corruption.”
Gimenez also warned that any attempts by Maduro’s government to destabilize or distort facts for political survival would be unacceptable from Washington’s viewpoint.
