Unrest Erupts in Dhaka After Death Sentence for Sheikh Hasina, at Least 50 Injured

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing mehr News Agency and Dhaka Tribune, at least 50 people, including police and military personnel, were injured during clashes on Monday evening.
Thousands, mostly students, gathered at the historic residence and museum of Sheikh Hasina’s father and attempted to destroy the site. Protesters pushed two bulldozers toward the building, but police blocked their advance using barriers, tear gas, and stun grenades.
Despite relative calm returning afterward, some protesters declared they would not leave until the historic site was fully destroyed. Police and military forces remain deployed in the area.
The International Crimes tribunal of Bangladesh sentenced Sheikh Hasina on Monday to death for “crimes against humanity” related to suppressing protests in 2024. She called the verdict political and claimed that orders to shoot came from the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus.
