Russian Representative Brands U.S. Gaza Resolution Deceptive

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing TASS via Mehr News Agency, following the United Nations Security Council vote on the US resolution concerning gaza,Vasily Nebenzya,Russia’s permanent representative to the UN,described the adoption process as deceptive and warned of its consequences.
Nebenzya stated that unlike the previous US administration’s proposal-which did not mention ”disarming Gaza” or “extensive coercive measures”-the new resolution imposes tasks on deployed forces that risk turning them into active participants in the conflict rather than neutral peacekeepers. He emphasized that none of the countries willing to contribute troops have accepted such conditions.
The Russian envoy also remarked that Security Council members lacked sufficient time for a thorough review and consensus-building over this text and were effectively subjected to “time pressure.”
The security Council session took place Monday night in New York (early Tuesday morning Tehran time) to discuss two draft resolutions proposed by the US and Russia regarding the Gaza Strip. The Council approved its resolution on Gaza with 13 votes in favor.
Thirteen members voted in favor of the US draft resolution concerning Gaza, while Russia and China abstained.
