Moscow Holds the US and Europe Responsible for Current Status of Iran Nuclear File

Mikhail ulyanov, Russia’s permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, stressed that the Iranian nuclear file has reached a complete deadlock. He held the European Troika (the United Kingdom, germany, and France), alongside the United States, responsible for this impasse.
He added that the consequences of adopting an anti-Iran resolution will become evident in the near future. “We will soon witness this,” he said. Tehran has effectively responded with a warning to the Director General of the international Atomic energy Agency (IAEA) regarding the termination of the Cairo Agreement.
ulyanov noted that while these countries repeatedly claim diplomacy is not over, their efforts have effectively killed diplomatic progress.
Meanwhile, Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for Russia’s Foreign Ministry, emphasized that peaceful nuclear cooperation with Iran must occur under the same conditions applied to other non-nuclear-weapon states committed to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
She described recent actions by Germany, France, Britain, and america at the IAEA board of Governors as provocative moves by Western powers. Zakharova warned these steps deliver a dangerous blow to international trust within IAEA safeguards and undermine global non-proliferation frameworks. She insisted that this latest anti-Iranian measure cannot strengthen constructive cooperation with the agency.
Zakharova also called it absurd that these actions come from countries which have long violated Iran’s 2015 Joint Extensive plan of Action (JCPOA) and ignored UN Security Council Resolution 2231.
