Trump: We Have Made Progress on Ukraine

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al-Mayadeen via Mehr News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that his country has made “progress” on the Ukraine issue.
He asserted that Ukraine is satisfied wiht the current process adn that Europe will play a notable and broad role in providing security guarantees.
Trump stated that his original 28-point plan was merely a preliminary roadmap for resolving the Ukraine crisis.
The U.S.president noted, “Steve Witkoff,” his envoy, will meet next week with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Claiming that Russia is offering some concessions in ongoing negotiations, Trump added that no deadline has been set for reaching an agreement to end the war in Ukraine.
He whent on to say that the conflict in Ukraine is moving along a defined path and disputed territories may ultimately be annexed by Russia.
Trump also said halting hostilities and foregoing any new territorial demands from Ukraine would be considered concessions from Russia within the framework of a U.S. peace plan.
He emphasized that Ukraine must agree to a deal; or else,fighting could continue for years,noting RussiaS military advantage over Kyiv.
earlier, Trump had said: “We are close to reaching an agreement on Ukraine; we’ll just have to see what happens.”
The U.S. president further claimed ending the war in Ukraine “is not easy,” adding: “I thought it was going to be easy.”
This contradicts Trump’s previous campaign promises when he pledged that if elected president,he would end conflicts in Ukraine within days.
