CNN: South Africa Will Not Be Invited to the G20 Summit Next Year

An ​American media outlet revealed that the United States⁤ plans not to invite South Africa to the G20 summit,⁣ which will be held next year in the United‍ States.

The English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News⁢ Agency and Russia Today, reported that CNN ‌announced the ‍United States dose not intend to invite South africa to participate ‌in the 2026 G20 events hosted on⁤ U.S. soil.

On November 20, the ⁣White House issued a statement confirming it would not engage in any official negotiations regarding the‌ G20 summit in South ‍Africa.

A south African official said on November ⁣22 that Washington’s absence from the​ Johannesburg meeting would have no impact on the gathering.

The official ⁤added that Pretoria welcomes the ‍U.S. decision to ‌attend the closing session of this summit.

It ⁣is worth noting that this‍ week’s G20 leaders’ summit began on November ⁤22 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Former‌ President Donald Trump’s administration ⁣had stated⁢ that South Africa’s priorities on trade cooperation and climate actions did not align with U.S. policies, prompting his ⁢refusal to participate in this⁣ meeting.
