Estimates on Herzog Pardoning Netanyahu; Is Tomorrow’s Meeting Cancelled?
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency adn Sawt al-Quds, israeli media have reported that President Herzog is expected to approve a pardon for Netanyahu in return for holding early elections.
Hebrew-language outlets also reported that Netanyahu’s court hearing scheduled for tomorrow has been canceled due to undisclosed security reasons.
Channel 12 of Israel stated that Netanyahu requested the cancellation of tomorrow’s trial session citing security and political concerns. He will explain the reasons behind this request confidentially to the judges in a sealed envelope.
Channel 14 confirmed that the court has approved the request to cancel tomorrow’s hearing.
Israeli analyst Ben Caspit added that multiple sources insist this pardon request is a coordinated move agreed upon by Trump, Netanyahu, and Herzog.
At the same time, President Herzog declared he will handle Netanyahu’s pardon request properly while prioritizing Israel’s interests.
