Kremlin Denies Putin Rejected U.S. Peace Plan for Ukraine

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Kremlin has denied reports that Vladimir Putin rejected a U.S. peace plan aimed at resolving the crisis in Ukraine. Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesman, addressed the issue in response to a journalist’s inquiry.
“No, that is not correct,” Peskov stated, clarifying that the discussions represent an initial direct exchange of views. He noted that while some elements of the proposal were deemed acceptable, others were not. Peskov characterized this process as a standard part of seeking compromise solutions.
Peskov added that Moscow hopes the U.S. will adhere to the principle of silence during negotiations regarding the resolution of the Ukrainian crisis. Moscow does not favor diplomacy conducted loudly, and the U.S. shares this approach, he said. He suggested that the more calmly negotiations for resolving the Ukrainian crisis are conducted, the more productive they will be.
In response to another question, the Kremlin spokesman indicated that a telephone conversation between Putin and Donald Trump is possible at any time.
Peskov emphasized that Russia places great value on Trump’s political will to peacefully resolve the Ukrainian crisis. Moscow is prepared to meet with officials from the Trump administration whenever necessary to settle the situation in Ukraine.
A meeting between the American delegation, led by Steve Witkoff, Special Representative of President Donald Trump, and Russian President Vladimir Putin took place. Detailed information regarding the specifics of this meeting has not yet been disclosed.
Prior to this meeting, the American delegation met with Ukrainian officials in Florida. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio described that meeting as productive.
President Donald Trump unveiled his 28-point plan to resolve the Ukrainian crisis several weeks ago, triggering extensive discussions among European and American officials.
The proposal includes ceding parts of Ukraine to Russia.
