UNRWA Refuses to Operate Under Israeli Law Amid West Bank Tensions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, UNRWA’s media advisor, Adnan Abu Hasna, stated that the agency has not received any official conditions or positions from the “occupying regime” regarding the return of citizens to camps in the northern West Bank, dismissing claims made in Israeli media.
Abu Hasna emphasized that UNRWA operates under an official mandate from the United Nations General Assembly, which was recently extended for three years by an overwhelming vote. He added that UNRWA will continue its services to nearly one million Palestinian refugees in the West Bank, and that its activities are not contingent on Israeli demands regarding its presence in the region.
Earlier on Monday, Israeli forces reportedly raided UNRWA’s headquarters in occupied Jerusalem and conducted a search of the premises.
