US Threatens EU with Retaliatory Measures Over Trade Restrictions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the U.S. is prepared to take action against the European Union if it persists in placing restrictions on American companies.
Greer, a U.S. trade representative, stated on Tuesday in a post on the social network ‘X’ that if the EU and its member states continue to insist on implementing restrictions, deterrents, and reductions in the competitiveness of American service providers through discriminatory measures, the United States will have no option but to use all available tools to counter these unjustified actions.
He pointed out that the U.S. can impose customs tariffs and restrictions against foreign suppliers if necessary, citing domestic laws.
The U.S. trade representative added that the United States would adopt the same approach towards other countries pursuing a similar strategy to the European Union.
This stance follows the European Union’s recent fine against the ‘X’ platform owned by American billionaire Elon Musk for violating European digital services laws.
Musk responded to this action by calling for the dissolution of the European Union and the return of “sovereignty” to member states.
