Israel and Germany Sign $3.1 Billion Arrow-3 Defense System Deal

Israel and Germany have finalized a $3.1 billion agreement for the Arrow-3 missile defense system, marking the largest defense export deal in Israel’s history. Germany became the first European nation to deploy the Arrow system in December 2023 after initially purchasing it that same year.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Israeli Ministry of War has announced that this agreement, combined with another, brings the total value of the defense deals to approximately $6.7 billion.
The Arrow-3 system is designed to intercept long-range ballistic missiles before they enter the atmosphere, utilizing a “direct hit” technology to destroy targets. This system was jointly developed by the Israeli Ministry of War, the U.S. Missile Defense Agency, and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI).
The Arrow-3 serves as the upper tier of Israel’s multi-layered air defense network, working alongside the Iron Dome system to counter short-range threats.
