Over 107,000 Displaced in Sudan’s El Fasher Amid Escalating Violence

More than 107,000 residents of El Fasher and surrounding villages in Sudan’s Darfur region have been displaced due to escalating insecurity under Rapid Support Forces control, with reports indicating the numbers may rise as clashes continue.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, over 107,000 people from El Fasher city and nearby villages in Sudan‘s Darfur state have been displaced between October 26 and December 8 amid worsening security conditions under Rapid Support Forces (RSF) control. International reports confirm that 24,221 families have fled the area, with 19% relocating to other Sudanese states.
The displacement figures are not final, as ongoing clashes between the Sudanese army and RSF since April 2023 continue to force civilians from their homes. The conflict, sparked by disputes over integrating RSF into the national military structure, has already created 13 million displaced persons nationwide.
