Communication Lost with Libyan Military Chief’s Aircraft After Takeoff from Ankara

Turkish media report that contact was lost with a Libyan aircraft carrying the Chief of Staff of Libya’s military shortly after takeoff from Ankara, with initial information suggesting Mohammed Ali Al-Haddad and his delegation were on board.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Turkish media have reported the loss of communication with a Libyan aircraft that took off from Ankara minutes earlier. Preliminary information indicates that Mohammed Ali Al-Haddad, Chief of Staff of the Libyan military, and his accompanying delegation were aboard the flight.

No additional details about the fate of the aircraft have been released. Turkish authorities have closed the airspace over Ankara and launched an official investigation into the incident.

The Turkish Interior Minister stated that the plane was en route from Ankara to Tripoli when it requested an emergency landing in the Ankara region before contact was lost. Flightradar confirmed the aircraft disappeared 16 minutes after takeoff.

The Libyan delegation had reportedly been in Ankara for meetings with Turkish military officials.
