European Parliament Official Calls for Troop Deployment to Ukraine

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Manfred Weber, the leader of the largest faction in the European Parliament, has called for Germany to deploy its military forces to Ukraine as part of a potential peace agreement. In an interview with Germany’s Funke Media Group, Weber stated that Brussels cannot rely solely on Washington to ensure peace between Moscow and Kyiv.
Weber emphasized that following a ceasefire or peace deal, the European flag should be raised along the contact lines. He also urged the European Union to act independently of the United States on security issues.
The European Parliament official claimed that he does not see Russian leadership on a path to peace and called on Ukraine’s European supporters to demonstrate strength and resolve. Russia has repeatedly opposed the idea of NATO forces on Ukrainian soil, citing NATO’s eastward expansion as a key factor in the ongoing conflict.
