Iraq’s State of Law Coalition Opposes Second Term for Prime Minister Al-Sudani

The State of Law Coalition has announced its opposition to a second term for Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, citing political concerns and the need for a leader capable of managing the country’s critical projects.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the State of Law Coalition, a key faction within Iraq‘s Coordination Framework, has declared its opposition to a second term for Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani. Zuhair al-Jalabi, a member of the coalition, stated that the issue of al-Sudani’s reappointment is purely political and that all political groups agree on his absence from leading the three branches of government.

Al-Jalabi emphasized that the next prime minister must be capable of effectively governing the country and implementing vital projects. He also noted that the new prime minister should be aligned with the winning factions within the coalition and trusted by the resistance groups and political blocs that emerged victorious in the elections.

Furthermore, al-Jalabi accused the United States and certain political lobbies of openly interfering in the selection process for Iraq’s next prime minister. He predicted increased political activity in the coming days as the country moves to elect both a new president and prime minister.
