Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Meets Sudan’s Sovereign Council Head in Port Sudan

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the head of Sudan‘s Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, met with Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed Al-Khuraiji in Port Sudan on Wednesday. The Saudi official delivered messages from King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressing hopes for lasting peace and security in Sudan.
Al-Burhan expressed gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s commitment to Sudanese stability, highlighting the historical ties between the two nations. He also thanked US President Donald Trump for his attention to Sudan’s crisis and peacebuilding efforts.
Discussions covered the Saudi-US backed peace initiative for Sudan, current regional developments, and preparations for a strategic coordination council between the two countries. Both sides examined ongoing efforts to guarantee Sudan’s security while preserving its unity and legal institutions.
