Fire at Karachi Shopping Mall Leaves 5 Dead, 20 Injured

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a fire broke out on the first floor of the Gul Plaza shopping complex in Karachi, a densely populated area of the city, leaving five people dead and 20 others injured. Initial reports indicate that the blaze, which was about 30% contained by Sunday morning, was caused by an electrical short circuit in one of the shops.
Rescue officials confirmed that 20 firefighting teams are working to extinguish the flames, but the risk of collapse remains high. Earlier reports had cited three deaths and seven injuries, but the toll has risen as emergency services continue their operations.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, with preliminary findings pointing to faulty wiring as the likely cause. The shopping mall is located in a busy commercial district, amplifying concerns over safety and infrastructure.
